Barefoot Minded duo, led by Oren Masserman, started in Lahaina in 2006.

Always performing from a young age, Oren played percussion and provided vocals in various bands throughout high school and college. Upon arrival in Maui in 2005, he quickly learned to play the ukulele and enjoyed playing alongside other local guitarists and vocalists. The inspiring surroundings and daily adventures Maui provided lended greatly to the fun beachy vibe these musicians would bring to their gigs. Originally, the duo played in Lahaina bars and restaurants, but they were quickly discovered by local event coordinators and have since transitioned to mostly weddings and corporate events all over Maui and the outer islands. Barefoot Minded has recently incorporated a bassist to offer a trio option for clients who are looking for a band.

Now a family man, Oren can often be found on the beaches of West Maui surfing and catching waves with his two young boys and his lovely wife. He still very much enjoys jamming alongside some of Maui's top musicians as Barefoot Minded and is so grateful to make a living performing in the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
